RBE Potential Analysis 2011

The RBE Potential Analysis 2011 includes a variety of new features, both technical and content-related, to keep up with the latest requirements:

  • Results are displayed on a completely new browser interface, optimized for Windows 7, also including a version for the Apple iPad.
  • Analysis areas, subjects and structures are displayed more clearly and new elements have been added.
  • There is greater focus on processes: it provides specific analyses that concentrate on processes; process variants are differentiated further, also by user- and master data usage.
  • It features an analysis overview that shows all results for structure-based key process figures and a display of major areas of usage, such as Accounting and Logistics.
  • Each analysis subject has a separate list of results titled Key Figures and Structures. It includes specifics on each of the analysis topics, whether key figures or structure-based results.
  • Significant progress has been made in retrieving and aggregating data from various different sources and compiling them to generate meaningful results. The analysis columns in the in-depth displays, such as order types or document types, have been expanded to include meaningful attributes and comparisons, to increase important content while reducing the number of pages.

In addition, we reorganized the summary section into top situation indicators that condense and evaluate core metrics across all application areas. The new strategic analysis for CIO and COO is also available in combination with a service package that includes a workshop.

How do you benefit as a user or a partner?

The new browser interface lets you navigate faster and more directly from the overall results or key figures to the specific values they?re based on. You can click on key figures and receive a link to the data they?re comprised of. This helps you explain, understand and implement changes for improvement.

Greater emphasis is placed on processes and on distinguishing between different process types, which, in addition to the SAP Solution Manager structure and business process variants, more closely links IT and support sides, and business and organizational sides. This is true for specific areas such as sales orders or deliveries. Results and analyses can be combined for the benefit of all, enabling business IT alignment.

Data retrieval and usage are geared more heavily toward target groups. In-depth areas of focus now combine relevant aspects for a well-founded analysis; plus, it?s easier to apply them toward concrete actions for improvement. IBIS?s principle is to combine several key figures that support solid conclusions. One example of this is the in-depth evaluations of sales order items that show not just the items, but complimentary order items and order items with special stock. Decision-makers can identify the focus of and important exceptions to the order process ? at a glance.

The new Potential Analysis enables you to scale the degree of detail on all evaluations. You can decide whether you want to view the information not classified by organization, for a general overview of the system. Or you can choose to look at a differentiated presentation of in-depth evaluations for each organizational cluster. These capabilities let you study organizations separately, yet don?t let you lose sight of the big picture and what?s happening on a broader scale.

The last set of new features supports management. Several more key figures have been equipped with alerts to identify anomalies. We have added an array of situation indicators that can condense data from each area into an overall metrics structure at the top level. For the first time it?s possible to track key figures such as degree of automation or process anomalies at the top level. The information can be accessed and displayed via an iPad browser.

The Potential Analysis?s new capabilities can be adapted more precisely to your specific scenario and to various target groups within your company.

  • IT department members benefit from an overall view of business processes that helps them perform concrete support and clean-up activities.
  • Members of user departments receive data categorized by organization; it?s geared more precisely to different process variants. What?s more, it includes new key figures on user integration and efficiency.
  • Department heads and top executives can use the situation indicators to achieve transparency and to better follow usage and intensity.

All three target groups are able to track key figures, analysis structures and the individual details that have gone in to generating these metrics. The new Potential Analysis enables usage planning, evaluation and intensification for IT, user departments and management.
