Process modeling in companies is an essential but extremely time-consuming issue. Company processes must be first identified and classified, and then modeled man-ually. For this process, the following questions play a significant role, but are fre-quently only able to be answered via numerous employee interviews.
· Which processes do you have in your company?
· How are these processes connected to one another?
· Are these processes important processes (core processes)?
· How are the processes really used, i. e. how intensively?
· What degree of detail is required in your process modeling?
· How objective are the statements your interview partner has made?
All too often, this resource-intensive process consumes much time and induces high costs. The problem becomes even more acute when you realize that this is not simply a one-time event, but a continual process. Companies are dynamic entities that undergo constant change made necessary by internal (e. g. restructuring) or external (e. g. changes in market circumstances) factors. Business areas are some-times outsourced, reorganized or integrated into other areas. But changes always have a direct effect on the company processes and the way they are carried out. The process models must constantly be monitored and adapted in order to reflect a current image of the processes performed within the company. In reality, however, the processes modeled only represent the processes actually used in the company for a very brief time.
“RBE Plus for ARIS” offers you the capability for answering these core questions and generating process models (blueprints) quickly, automatically and objectively. The RBE Plus Analysis, upon which the RBE Plus tool is based, automatically provides you with objective information concerning the actual degree to which master data, processes, process steps and transactions are used within your SAP system. The customized process model, generated according to this information, is based on the SAP Solution Manager’s reference model, the “Business Process Repository“ (BPR). This guarantees you maximum transparency through process modeling that closely matches your SAP system. The blueprint, generated by the RBE Plus tool, can be imported via XML files to the “ARIS for the SAP Netweaver” tool and used there. The imported model reflects the up-to-date status (As-Is Model) of your company’s processes by classifying the processes used during the analysis period as “active” and those not used as “inactive”. This model thus provides you with a suitable foundation for creating a consistent and SAP-compatible target concept (To-Be Model) based on the up-to-date status of SAP’s BPR processes and process steps used.
In light of detailed information such as frequencies, directly available in the model’s processes, it is simple to identify which processes are used most often, or to draw conclusions directly from the significance assigned the processes in the process sequence.
Repeated analyses enable you to record, document and monitor changes in the process model or implementation of a pre-defined To-Be Model in realtime.
