The LIVE KIT Structure’s requirements analysis is comprised of several steps:
- Step 1: Determination of Project Scope
The rule-supported selection of application areas (e.g. Purchasing) and compo-nents (e.g. customer inquiry or service procurement) helps you define the scope of items to be examined.
- Step 2: Reduction of Unnecessary Processes and Functions
By answering questions within the scope of business areas to be examined, the necessary processes and functions are determined, or the ones required remain selected. This reduction provides transparency and allows you to concentrate on essentials.
- Step 3: Selection of Relevant Business Profiles
You can also select adequate solutions for processes, functions, organizational structures and reports from a library containing over 4,000 business profiles. Doc-umentation on customizing settings to be made is available for each of these profiles, furnishing you with the foundation for a Baseline System.
Once you have finished answering the questions and depending on the level of detail selected ("Level"), you will be provided the following types of report to aid you in creating various evaluations:
- Function Analysis
Function analyses are MS Excel-based evaluations you can use to determine which functions from the "Core and Extensions" and "Business Add-Ins" you need for SAP R/3 Enterprise 6.00. A file is created for each of these subjects, which you can then edit if necessary. The results (statistics and graphics) are shown in the Management Summary.

- IMG Browser
The IMG Browser is a database-supported editing environment for generating and editing a reduced SAP Project IMG. The results can be obtained in document form (HTML, DOC or XLS format) or transferred to an SAP system via a Remote Func-tion Call (RFC).
Example
- Table
You receive an MS Excel table showing the estimation of expenses for the required customizing, based on the answers provided in the workshop. The result is a file consisting of several pages displaying individual expenses grouped by work pack-ages and activities.

Report
The report area provides a variety of different evaluations, all formatted in MS Word. These include different types of protocols regarding the workshop, compila-tions of the selected typical solutions and descriptions concerning their implemen-tation, recommendations for settings of master data fields (Asset Accounting, Financial Accounting and Materials Management), as well as a management-oriented recapitulation as a basis for decision-making.
